1978 Nugget Two-Point
1978 Nugget Two-Point
Made by famed luthier Mike Kemnitzer in 1978, fairly early into his era of building some of the most highly regarded mandolins of all time.
This particular 2-Point, built reasonably early for the more famed builds in Mike’s career, is the quintessential 70’s mandolin, with its bright, punchy tone, large C shaped neck, and 1 1/8 nut.
The recurve of the top is relatively steep, and as a result this mandolin has a huge, explosive chop and clear single notes, less bass heavy than later nuggets. It’s got a very bright tone.
Very good condition, with just a couple marks.
Comes with a nice hard shell case.
