2014 Sadowsky Semi-Hollow Model
2014 Sadowsky Semi-Hollow Model
Founded in 1979 by Roger Sadowsky, Sadowsky Guitars has long been known for blending classic designs with modern refinement, often in their extremely high end basses and electrics, but also with a highly respected line of archtops, and this semi-hollow is no exception.
Built in 2014, this Semi-Hollow model finished in a lovely Sienna Burst features a 15" lower bout and a 1 3/4" body depth, built with a five-ply flamed maple laminate top and a chambered spruce center block. This combination offers warmth, sustain, and feedback resistance, making it a versatile choice for players who want the resonance of a hollow body with the control of a solidbody. Scraped binding adds a touch of understated elegance.
The mahogany neck, with a 24.75" scale length is topped with, interestingly, a fairly brown ebony fretboard, and the 12" radius and 1 11/16" nut width give it a familiar feel for many electrics players. Great combination of sought after archtop features/styling and modern playability. Extremely similar in design to one of our favorite guitars, the Comins GSC1.
Installed with Sadowsky made hum buckers, which are nice and warm, with a full low end and even response.
Visually, this guitar is quite good, with only one or two dings on the top and the expected pick marks on the guard.
Comes with the original hardshell case.
